DESCRIPTION: Switzerland, a silver cased duplex pocket watch beating dead seconds for the Chinese market, 11 jewels, key wind and set, engraved, gilt Chinese calibre movement with crab tooth duplex escapement in a silver hunting case with glazed cuvette and Roman numeral white enamel dial, blued steel pierced quatrefoil hands, 60mm, c1840.
CONDITION: CASE: Tarnish; Shallow dents; Dings and pin pricks; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Very fine scratches on inner surface of case; Covers with wear from bow; Front cover hinge sticky; Bow worn; Hole in pendant for bow screw worn; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Very good. HANDS: Very good. MOVEMENT PLATES: A few screws and stop work with minor losses to blue; Regulator with scratches and specks of oxide. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks), good balance amplitude.
